Taekwondo - 3rd Jinya Gym Championship 2013

Congratulations to two of our Y10 students who took part in a recent Taekwondo Tournament. Mook and Jazz competed in the 3rd Jinya Gym Championship 2013, Poomsae Competition, with Jazz winning the Gold Medal in the 15-17 age group for the Yellow Belt. Mook also competed in the 15-17 age group, but in the Black Belt and won the Silver Medal.

Both of these are fantastic achievements and well done to both of the girls who train 5 nights a week outside of school. Keep up the good work girls and we wish you all the best in your future events. These include a competition in Korea at Kukkiwon, the World Taekwondo Heardquarter in July.

U13 TISAC Table Tennis Tournament

Congratulations to our U13 Table Tennis team who finished in 1st place at the TISAC Tournament, building on our successes at the TISAC Badminton last week.

It was a fantastic team performance with the hard work put in practising at lunchtimes really paying off for the students. Our boys team was made up of  Peak & Mai in Y7 and Dom & Nine in Y8 and in our girls team we had Alex, Mimi,  Narisa & Ilaria all in Y8. On the day our four girls played unbelievably and finished in the top four places individually:

1st - Alex
2nd - Mimi
3rd - Narisa
4th - Ilaria

Our boys also played some great table tennis with both Nine and Dom reaching the semi-finals, losing narrowly, and then playing each other in the 3rd vs 4th play-off  Nine came out on top finishing 3rd in another very close game.

Congratulations to all our students who took part and to all the other students who have been practising hard with them at lunchtimes. We now look forward to the U15's Tournament on Friday and wish our players all the best!!
